US EPA EPANET Online Training

Water Distribution System Analysis using US EPA EPANET Online Training by Industry Expert

Duration: Three Days

Schedule: Multiple batches are available in May, June & July, 2021

Mode of Training: Instructor-Led Online Training

Overview

The course has been structured to provide in-depth knowledge regarding the basic and advanced theories of water distribution and transmission. Participants shall learn and gain detailed insights about the effective use and application of US EPA EPANET software through a live interaction with the trainer. The training shall comprise key case studies to better understand the subject and to acquaint with the method of modelling water distribution systems. Continuous engagement with the industry expert over the course period helps in better understanding and reinforcing the concepts of water distribution and transmission hydraulics.

The course, in brief, includes the topics such as water demand calculations, Steady State Hydraulic Analysis, Extended Period Simulation with the water distribution network, Model Analysis and Design of Transmission Mains i.e. Pumping Systems. The course also focuses on the understanding water distribution design with respect to the prevalent water distribution design regulations in India.

Learning Objectives

The broad objective of learning is having a detailed knowledge oriented hands-on experience to work with US EPA EPANET. The course equips you with the required skills and the knowledge to design, analyse and solve real world issues regarding water distribution networks.

Who should attend?

Individuals aspiring to upskill in the field of the water networks as well as individuals working with Municipal Authorities, Consulting, Construction Management, Contractors, Field Executives, Academicians and Young Engineers would largely benefit from the course.

About the software

EPANET is a software application used throughout the world to model water distribution systems. It was developed as a tool for understanding the movement and fate of drinking water constituents within distribution systems, and can be used for many different types of applications in distribution systems analysis. Today, engineers and consultants use EPANET to design and size new water infrastructure, retrofit existing aging infrastructure, optimize operations of tanks and pumps, reduce energy usage, investigate water quality problems, and prepare for emergencies. It can also be used to model contamination threats and evaluate resilience to security threats or natural disasters.
