About Autodesk Civil 3D Software

Autodesk Civil 3D: The Autodesk Civil 3D is a civil infrastructural designing and documentation software which facilitates Civil engineers, designers, drafters, technicians and surveyors to get solutions on wide range of projects which includes land development, transportation, environmental and road rehabilitation, highway design, local roads, and channels as well. This course on Civil 3D focuses on surveying basics as in importing survey points and navigate you through preparing surfaces, designing alignments, generating profile views, making assemblies of road components and their corridors to section of roads, section sheets, Land use development and Storm and Sanitary analysis.

Course Outcome

After completing this course, the user will be able to:

• Level surface through calculation of volumes dashboard

• Design horizontal and vertical alignments

• Create assemblies and corridor

• Take sections of roads and prepare section sheets

• Do Plotting in Land use development

• Calculate, cut and fill volumes in road designing

• To perform Storm and Sanitary analysis of road drainage

Civil 3D Introductory Course (Duration: 3 Days):

• Autodesk civil 3D Interface

• Points

• Surface – Volume dashboard, catchment & water drop

• Horizontal alignment, super elevation

• Vertical alignment

• Assembly and corridor

• Section of roads

• Parcels – land use development

• Grading – pond grading, parking lot grading

• Pipe Network

• Plan production

• Data shortcuts – project management

Add-on Course (Duration: 1 Day): Storm and Sanitary Analysis

• Hydrology Methods

• Design and sizing of drainage system components for flood control

• Design and sizing of detention facilities

• Floodplain mapping of natural channels

• Designing control strategies for minimizing combined sewer overflows, roadway drainage, sample models, sanitary lift station

• Evaluating impact of inflow and infiltration on SSO

• Computing SCS curve numbers for a sub basin

• Pipe sizing, exporting pipes to civil 3d,

• Pond analysis

• SCS method- time of concentration

• SCS method-CN composite comparison

• Stage Storage

Prerequisites: Students who enrol in this course should be comfortable with the fundamentals of AutoCAD Civil 3D as taught in the Civil 3D Introductory course.

Assignments, Case Studies & Projects

Guidance & Support will be provided during the course.

Assignment and small project shall be provided to the participants.
